- Understanding climate change as a psychological stressor and recognising eco-anxiety, solastalgia, eco-rage and eco-depression.
- Identifying vulnerable groups and the short- and long-term psychological effects of climate-related events.
- Applying trauma-informed, resilience-based and evidence-backed strategies for emotional support, prevention and recovery.
This module explores the environmental and psychological challenges faced in remote communities and offers practical ways to support mental well-being in rural settings.
- Recognising how eco-anxiety manifests in isolated areas and how local conditions shape mental health.
- Understanding the social, cultural and infrastructural factors that influence climate-related distress in rural communities.
